TARBORO — Elizabeth Judd Andrews and Britt Armfield Preyer, Jr. were united in marriage on December 31, 2011 at eight o’clock in the evening at Saint Mary’s Chapel in Raleigh. The Reverend Joseph Wiley Cooper officiated. The ceremony was follow by a reception at the Cardinal Club.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Jernigan Andrews of Raleigh and Mr. Richard Lewis Andrews of Tarboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roberts Harrell Jernigan, Jr. of Ahoskie and Dr. Bob Barcus Andrews and the late Mrs. Andrews of Lumberton.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Britt Armfield Preyer of Greensboro. He is the grandson of Mrs. John Covington Dockery, Jr. and the late Mr. Dockery of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and the late Honorable and Mrs. Lundsford Richardson Preyer of Greensboro.

The bride was attended by her sister, Margaret Marshall Andrews of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The bridesmaids were Mary Catherine Benson and Katherine Rose Williams, both of Raleigh; Lindsey Aubra Suggs of Wilmington; Claire Hunter Spruill of Edenton; Austin Leager Andrews of Washington; Elizabeth Dodd Sherrod of Knoxville, Tennessee and Kelly Young Williams of Winston Salem.

Britt Armfield Preyer, the groom’s father, served as best man. The groomsmen were Richard Lewis Andrews, Jr. of Washington, brother of the bride; Matthew Scott Smith of Raleigh; Phillip Michael Taylor of Dallas, Texas; John Dean Willingham IV of Scottsville, Virginia; Frederick Davis Poisson III, of Charleston, South Carolina; Carl Ivan Carlson, IV, cousin of the groom, and William Norris Bullock both of Greensboro. William Harris Preyer of Wilmington and John Calder Preyer of Greensboro, brothers of the groom.

The scripture reader was Rebecca Adams Carpenter of Charlotte and Tate Marie Struttmann of Charleston, South Carolina served as the greeter. Organist Kevin Shawn Kerstetter provided the music.

The bride graduated from Saint Mary’s School in Raleigh and North Carolina State University. She received a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy degree at East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Queen’s University of Charlotte. She is currently employed by Rex Hospital. She was presented at the 2002 North Carolina Debutante Ball where she was an assistant leader.

The groom attended Woodberry Forest School and graduated from Page High School in Greensboro and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He is employed by Integra Realty Resources.

Following a wedding trip to Europe in the spring, the couple will reside in Raleigh.

    The Bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Durwood Corbett of Macclesfield, NC. The Groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Robert Leonel Chasse, Sr. of Pinetops, NC.
