Leslie Drake of Pinetops and Bobby Hawkins of Tarboro exchanged wedding vows on June 13, 2009 at the Pinetops Baptist Church. The Rev. John Melancon and Dr. Wayne Flora, uncle of the bride, officiated at the 2:00 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Drake of Pinetops. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Peggy Drake of Pinetops and Mr. Rudolph Flora of Macclesfield. She graduated from South West Edgecombe High School and is a student at Edgecombe Community College.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr .and Mrs. Danny Hawkins of Tarboro. He is the grandson of Mr.and Mrs. Bobby Allen and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hawkins of Tarboro. He graduated from South West Edgecombe High School and is a student at Edgecombe Community College. He is employed as a retail wireless consultant with U.S. Cellular of Rocky Mount.
Escorted by her father, Eddie Drake, the bride chose for her wedding a white gown by Eden. The strapless gown of Matte Satin featured light beading and embroidery on the bodice and front panel that peaked through the light Chiffon overskirt. The gown also featured a sweep train. The bride carried a bouquet of hot pink and white stargazer lilies, pink roses, and a single white rose in memory of her Grandmother Janie Flora. The bouquet was also adorned with a white handkerchief, given by the groom’s grandmother, Jean Allen, in honor and memory of the couple’s grandparents.
Groomsmen were Mr. Brandon Drake, brother of the bride, and Mr. Lee Hawkins, brother of the groom.
The ceremony was directed by, Mrs. Sue Joines, and Mrs. Carolyn Crisp.
Wedding music was provided by organist Mrs. Vel Trevathan, pianist Mrs. Robin Farmer, Flutist Ms. Taylor Farmer, and vocalist Mrs. Lou Flora.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Pinetops Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. On the eve of the ceremony, an after rehearsal dinner was served at the Fellowship Hall.
Upon the couple's return from their honeymoon cruise in the Eastern Caribbean Islands, the couple will reside in Tarboro.

Corbett/Chasse Wedding
