Carla Denise Forehand and Bryan James Baker were united in marriage on August 1st, 2009, at 2:30 in the afternoon. The ceremony was held at the Webbs Chapel Baptist Church in Macclesfield, North Carolina, with the Reverend Johnny Hendricks officiating. A reception was held after the ceremony at the Maccripine Country Club in Pinetops, North Carolina hosted by friends and family of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Carl and Pam Forehand of Macclesfield, North Carolina, and the granddaughter of Dean Whitley and the late Donald Whitley of Macclesfield, and Leona Forehand and the late T.B. Forehand, Sr. of Colerain, North Carolina. Carla is a graduate of South West Edgecombe High School and Western Carolina University.
The groom is the son of Lori Riley of Greenville, North Carolina, and Reverend James Baker of Beaufort, South Carolina. His stepfather is Richard Riley and his stepmother is Sandy Baker. He is the grandson of Ben and Jean Forgey of Brandon, Mississippi, and Loretta Baker and the late Joseph Baker of Bartlett, Tennessee. Bryan is a graduate of Sumter High School and attended Central Carolina Technical College. He is currently working for the Wilson Police Department.
Matron of Honor was Lauren Harrell Edmondson and Bridal Attendants were Jessica Tallent, Staci Mellon, Kayla Harrell, Heather Varnell and Deanna Harrell. The flower girl was Ashtyn Gardner, and the Program Attendants were Amanda Minner and Leah Hobgood.
The Best Man was Tim Keating and the Groom’s Attendants were Kelly Lamm, John Slaughter, Mike McLaughlin, Donald Forehand, and Todd Tant. The ring bearer was Parker Hobgood.
The wedding music was provided by James Kittrell, cellist, and Dee Braxton-Pellegrino, violinist. Robin Farmer served as pianist and Amanda Warren was the soloist. Cora Cummings served as the book attendant.
The Bride wore a formal gown of rich ivory Italian satin with rum and gold tones. The regal strapless design featured a two toned bodice enhanced with gold filigree embroidery accented with crystal sequins and delicate bugle beading. The fitted bodice extended into a full gathered ball skirt, bordered by medallions of gold embroidery and rum toned satin. The floor length ball gown encircled into a dramatic chapel train. Her single tiered veil of ivory illusion edged with metallic scrolling and crystal embellishment gently fell to waist length.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Riley and Reverend and Mrs. James Baker hosted the rehearsal dinner.
A miscellaneous bridal shower was given on June 28th at Webbs Chapel Fellowship hall by friends and family.
A bachelorette party was hosted by the matron of honor in Raleigh on July 18th.
The bride’s Sunday School class hosted a bridal shower on July 19th at Webbs Chapel.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico and will reside in Wilson, North Carolina.
