Boswell/McGee

TARBORO — ROCKY MOUNT – Miss Lauren Margaret Boswell and Mr. Richard Trent McGee were united in marriage at half past four o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at West Edgecombe Baptist Church in Rocky Mount.  The Reverend Terry Brooks officiated the double ring ceremony that included the couple’s observance of Holy Communion.  A reception followed at the Imperial Centre.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Craig Boswell of Rocky Mount.  She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stanley Lewis of Rocky Mount, Mrs. Bertha Eason Boswell of Cary, and the late Mr. Samuel Edison Boswell and the late Mrs. Margaret Fountain Boswell.

The bride is a graduate of SouthWest Edgecombe High School, North Carolina State University, where she received Bachelor of Science degrees in Animal Science and Poultry Science, and the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  She is currently a Veterinarian at Albemarle Animal Hospital in Tarboro, North Carolina.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Barnes McGee of Woodland, North Carolina.  He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jennings Johnson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Usry McGee.  

The groom is a graduate of Northampton County High School East and East Carolina University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication and Media Studies.  He is currently the Director of Public Policy & Workforce for the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride wore her mother’s wedding gown and cathedral length veil.  She carried a bouquet of red amaryllis and roses, purple mini calla lilies, blue spruce pine, and berries.

The bride’s sisters, Dr. Kristen Boswell Coggin of Winston-Salem served as matron of honor and Miss Kathryn Lanier Boswell of Greenville, served as maid of honor.  Bridesmaids were Dr. Lacey Wright Gaddy of Clinton, Mrs. Tricia Ann McGee of Raleigh, Mrs. Rebecca Robertson McLawhorn, of Winston-Salem, Dr. Megan Susan Nemechek of Rensselaer, Indiana, and Dr. Sarah Ferrell Weeks of Tarboro.

The groom’s father, Mr. Richard Barnes McGee, served as best man.  Groomsmen were Mr. Bracy Wood Boone of Jackson, Mr. Jonathan Charles Cobb of Pinetops, Mr. George Mark McGee of Margarettsville, Mr. Justin Blake McGee, brother of the groom, of Raleigh, Mr. John Carr Phillips of Greenville, and Mr. Eric Michael Upchurch of Greenville.  

Ushers were Mr. Stephen Kyle Apple of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. George Myers Coggin of Winston-Salem, Mr. John Everett Daniels of Raleigh, Mr. Gregory Wilson Parker of Winterville, Mr. Kevin Dewayne Pope of Greenville, and Mr. Bradford Jackson Walston of Raleigh.

Miss Lyndsey Lenora Min Proctor, special friend of the bride, chimed the hour.

Instrumentalists for the ceremony were Mrs. Vonda Darr, harpist, Mrs. Peggy King, organist, and Miss Angie Ruffin, pianist.  Soloist for the ceremony was Miss Brittany Harrell.  

Mrs. Martha Marion Lancaster served as wedding director and Ms. Laura Smiley Ramsey provided flowers and décor for the ceremony and reception.

Greeters at the church doors were Miss Torri Micha Bowen and Miss Caroline Gibson Chewning. Greeters at the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keith Barkley and Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy Wayne Whitehurst.

Following a honeymoon trip to Asheville, North Carolina and The Biltmore Estate, the couple makes their home in Greenville, North Carolina with their two dogs, Hope and Riley.

    The Rehearsal Dinner was hosted by Shirley and Donald Foreman, Grandparents of the Groom and also Elisha and Kenneth Chasse, Parents of the Groom, at Pizza Inn in Rocky Mount.
    The Bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Durwood Corbett of Macclesfield, NC. The Groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Robert Leonel Chasse, Sr. of Pinetops, NC.
