Rebecca Caitlin Harrell and Brandon Glen Sugg were united in marriage at six o’clock Saturday April 25, 2009 at Eagles Baptist Church in Crisp, NC with the Rev. Jeff Holden officiating. The bride is the daughter of Norris and Teresa Harrell of Macclesfield, NC. The groom is the son of Dennis and Glynn Sugg of Pinetops,NC. The bride is a 2005 graduate of SouthWest Edgecombe High School, a 2008 graduate of NC State University, and is currently in graduate school at East Carolina University. The groom is a 1997 graduate of SouthWest Edgecombe High School. He is co-owner and operator of W.W. Landscaping in Macclesfield, NC. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory gown covered in beaded lace with a scalloped sweetheart neckline and carried a hand-tied bouquet of blue hydrangeas and white Gerber daisies. The maid of honor was Laura Harrell, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Brittany Harrell, cousin of the bride, Krisi Spain, Erin Grimsley, and Karie Webb. Dennis Sugg was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Jeremy Sugg, brother of the groom, Jonathon Sugg, brother of the groom, Dan Grimsley, Casey Webb, Casey Allen, Lamar Walston, Bill Webb, and Randy Abrams. Thomas Sugg, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer. Nuptial music was provided by vocalists, Ralph and Teresa Webb; pianist, Brittanie Taylor; and trumpeter, Jacob Smith.
Pre-wedding festivities included a bridesmaid’s dress fitting and luncheon on October 18, 2008, a Christmas shower hosted by Erin Grimsley at her home on December 7, 2008, and a Ladies New York Weekend Getaway hosted by Erin Grimsley and Candice Jernigan on January 23. On March 14 the bride was honored at a Coffee Hour at The Carlton Fellowship Hall. The event was hosted by Mrs. Eva Sugg, Mrs. Brenda Sugg, Mrs. Vicki Branch, and Ms. Austin Branch. A Men’s Cruise to Cozumel and Key West, Florida on March 19-23 was hosted by the groom’s brother, Jeremy Sugg. On March 22 a bridal shower was given for the couple at the Presbyterian Church in Macclesfield by Mrs. Anita Harrell, Mrs. Brinkley Harrell, Mrs. Cheryl Henderson, and Mrs. Karen McLean. On April 18, a bridesmaid’s luncheon was given by Mrs. Sandra Harrell, Mrs. Kimberly Smith, Ms. Susan Head and Mrs. Janice Harrell, aunts of the bride, at the home of Mrs. Sandra Harrell A rehearsal dinner honoring the couple was held at Myrtle Grove Plantation on April 24th 2009.
After the ceremony a reception featuring the band “Backyard Groove” was held at Maccripine Country Club. Following a honeymoon trip to Maroma, Mexico the couple will make their home in Pinetops, NC.
