TARBORO — Art exhibit: Tarboro Artists Guild “Painting the Town” – an exhibit planned with a focus on town’s 250th anniversary. Continues until Sept. 25 at Hobson Pittman Gallery in Blount-Bridgers House.

Art exhibit: Sept. 10 to Oct. 24. Collector Bob Newton from Farmville will bring an exhibit of the Eastern Carolina Railway that will be installed in the Hobson Pittman Gallery in Blount-Bridgers House in time for History Day, Saturday, Sept 25.  Gallery reception Sunday, Sept. 12, 2-4 p.m.

Book reading: Mary E. B. Smith will talk about her book, "The Scent of Gardenia: A Killing in Princeville," Saturday, Sept. 18, 2 p.m. in the Princeville Museum, 310 Mutual Blvd. Sponsored by the Perry-Weston Institute.

Art Exhibit: Thursday, Sept. 23 by Greenville artist Richard Wilson, a SouthWest Edgecombe High School graduate, at Saint Anne's Chapel.

History Day, Saturday, Sept. 25 to include Town of Tarboro's 250th birthday party.

Tour of Homes: Saturday, Sept. 25, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets: $20, avaliable at Edgecombe County Memorial Library, Blount-Bridgers House, the Tarboro-Edgecombe Chamber of Commerce.

Music: Wednesday, Oct. 20, 7:30 p.m. Sara Dew of Tarboro will open for Gloriana at N.C. State Fair in Raleigh.

Great Tarboro Art Bazaar: Nov. 5-28 at Blount-Bridgers House. Members-only preview party Thursday, Nov. 4, 6 to 9 p.m. Open to public Nov. 5-28.

Art exhibit: Annual Hobson Pittman exhibit showing works that were the subject of an extensive collection conservation endeavor. Dec. 10 to Feb. 28, 2011, at Hobson Pittman Gallery in Blount-Bridgers House.
