Chalmers B. Williams, 74, of Tarboro, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Heritage Hospital in Tarboro.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Julian Thompson officiating.
Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen Carter Williams; a daughter, Janice Williams Browning and husband Mike of Tarboro; two sons, Kent Williams and wife Julia of Tarboro, and Danny Williams and wife Linda of Tarboro; four sisters, Lillie May Williams of Bennettsville, S.C., Madeline McGee of Laurinburg, Martha Keel and Lois Weaver, both of Whitakers; two brothers, Don Williams of Temperance Hall, and Ronnie Williams of Rocky Mount; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Carlisle Funeral Home, and other times at 308 Maryland Ave., Tarboro.
