ABRAM ‘JUNE’ MAYO, Jr.

TARBORO — PINETOPS — Abram “June” Mayo, Jr., age 89, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012. He was born Aug. 14, 1923 to the late Mary Hussey and Abe Mayo, Sr., in Nash County, NC.

He was a member of Pines Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Lena Mayo of the home; four sons: Benjamin Mayo of Tarboro, Daniel Smith of Pinetops, Edward Mayo of Rocky Mount and Darryl Mayo of Raleigh; one daughter, Carolyn Mayo of Pinetops; nine grandchildren, four adopted grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and seven adopted great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at Pines Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Pinetops with the Rev. Daniel Battle delivering the eulogy and Rev. Kelly R. Andrews, presiding. Burial will follow in the Mayo Family Cemetery, Pinetops.

Mrs. Bullock, a native of Wilson County and a lifelong resident of Pitt County, was a graduate of Belvoir-Falkland High School. She was engaged in farming with her husband until 1989 and was a charter member of Belvoir Free Will Baptist Church.
