TARBORO — DUNN — Mackinley "Mack" Waters, 13, of the Spivey's Corner Community of Sampson County died Friday evening from injuries sustained in an accident.

Mack was a student at Midway Middle School, where he was a straight "A" student, played wide receiver on the football team, he was a member of Mt. Elam Baptist Youth Group and First Baptist Church of Dunn Youth Group. He enjoyed hunting and fishing was devoted big brother and was loved and adored by all.

Funeral services were held Monday with the Rev. Randy Bishop, Dr. Len Keever and the Rev. Randy Moore officiating. A private burial service was held.

Surviving are his parents, Jeremy and Christie Shepherd Waters; brothers Ben Waters and Latham Waters; a sister, Eliza Water all of the home; paternal grandparents, the Rev. Lavelle and Sharon Waters of Roanoke Rapids; maternal grandparents, Peggy Moore Edwards of Greenville, and Coy Shepherd and wife Jeannie of Goldsboro.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midway Middle School Athletic Booster Club 1115 Roberts Grove Road, Dunn, N.C. 28334 or Mt. Elan Church Youth Group, 2211 Mount Elam Church Road, Roseboro, N.C. or First Baptist Church Youth Group, 309 West Broad Street, Dunn, N.C. 28334.

Funeral services are by Skinner & Smith Funeral Home.
