TARBORO — GARLAND — Ida Ward Johnson, 70, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro. She was born Feb. 23, 1942 in Edgecombe County.

She was a member of the First Baptist Garland Church in Garland.

Ida's parents were the late Lawrence Hudson and Eva Virginia Ward Jones. She leaves to cherish her memories, one brother, Richard Ward of Brooklyn, N.Y.; six sisters, Doris Jones Graham of Sacramento, Calif., Elzatia Jones Andrews of Princeville, the Rev. Wanda Jones Lane and Addie Jones of Tarboro, Dr. Delores Jones Porter of Princeville and Denese Jones Tyson of Greenville.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May, 14, 2012 at the First Baptist Garland Church.

A viewing will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Summerville Boykin Mortuary Inc. in Garland.
