PAUL E. WARREN

TARBORO — Paul E. Warren Jr. 85, died on Feb. 1, 2012. He was born on Aug. 18, 1925 to the late Paul Erie Warren and Ruth Gammon Warren of Conetoe, N.C. He was a lifetime telephone company employee and a World War II veteran. Mr. Warren was an avid golfer, loved time spent at the coast and a loyal UNC basketball fan.

Mr. Warren is survived by his wife, Helen C. Warren; daughter Cherry W. Gillam and husband, Robert of Windsor, N.C.; son, Paul E Warren, II and wife Deborah of Tarboro, N.C.; sister, Nancy W. Worlsey of Kill Devils Hills, N.C.; sister, Cora Lee W. Gold of Rocky Mount, N.C.; step daughter, Susan W. Kelly and husband Phillip of Blairsville, Ga., stepson, Rom A. Whitaker, II and wife, Elaine of Hatteras, N.C.; stepson, William D. Whitaker and wife, Aimee of Marietta Ga. and stepson, Joseph E. Garner and wife Samia of Goldsoboro, N.C.

Mr. Warren was preceded in death by step daughter, Helen W, Cater.

He is also survived by three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and 11 step grandchildren.

A memorial will be conducted at 2 p.m Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at the Queen Street United Methodist Church in Kinston.

The family will receive family and friends at the home on 817 Greenbriar Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Conetoe United Methodist Church or to the Queen Street United Methodist Church

Edwards Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
