TARBORO — Alvin  Earl  Armstrong, Sr., 81, of Tarboro, died Wednesday, Jan. 8. 2013. A graveside service with Masonic Rites will be held at 11 a. m. Friday in the Oak City Cemetery, Oak City.

Alvin was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was a volunteer at Golden Living Center and a Mason and active member of Concord Lodge No. 58. He was also a grandfather of the Church of United Christian Ministry.

He is survived by a loving family including two daughters:  Brenda Ward and husband, Gerald, of Tarboro and Crystal Whitfield and husband, Howard “Runt” Whitfield, of Tarboro; a son, Alvin  Earl  Armstrong, Jr., of Rocky Mount, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Carlisle Funeral Home.
