TARBORO — Jamie Eugene Scott, 33, died Sunday, July 22, 2012.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 12:30 PM in Edgecombe Memorial Park with Linwood Lewis speaking.

Jamie enjoyed fishing, hunting, family and friends. He loved everyone and enjoyed doing for others. His most enjoyment was his son.

He is survived by:

Son; Justin Dakota Scott of Black Creek

Mother and step-father, Rose Bridgers Etheridge and Edward of Tarboro

Father and step-mother; Phillip E. Scott and Lisa of Suffolk, Va.

Sister; Shanna Etheridge of Tarboro

Brothers; Phillip Ray Scott and fiance Jennifer Hammaker of Chesapeake, Va. Jason Avery Scott and fiance Kristy Lane Lee of Greenville.

Maternal grandmother, Ruth Gilbert Lewis of Tarboro

Paternal grandmother, Eula Scott Andrews of Bethel.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home, Thursday from 11:00 to 12:00 PM.

It breaks my heart to look at the puppies and kittens at the Tarboro Animal Shelter pictured in Monday’s editions of the Daily Southerner. June is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Month, and I pray these fur babies will find a good forever home. Bucking a statewide and national trend, the kittens have a better chance of getting adopted than the puppies. Why?
