John H. “J.J.” Johnson, Sr

TARBORO — PINETOPS — John H. “J.J.” Johnson, Sr., 64, died Wednesday. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Hobgood Cemetery.

John drove long distance trucks for Long Farm Equipment Co. and Gwaltney Food Co. and has traveled throughout every state and Mexico. He was presently employed with Conway Freight Co.

He is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 47years, Clara H. Johnson; daughter, Veronica Stilley and husband, Gerry of Pinetops; son, John H. Johnson, Jr. of Pinetops; grandchildren, Jonathan Johnson, Chris Johnson, Brent Stilley, Kristin Stilley;

sister, Carolyn Gilliam of Harrelsville; brothers, Tommy Johnson of Maysville, Jerry Johnson of Elm City, Ernest Johnson of Tarboro.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday from and other time at the home.
