TARBORO — Joseph Lee “Bubba” Dupree 80, died Saturday, July 28, 2012.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery in Lawrence, with the Rev. Noah Howard officiating.

Joseph served in the U. S. Air Force from 1952 – 1956. He retired from farming and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He served as a board member at Hobgood Academy, a member of N. C. Peanut Growers Association, and Ruratin Club. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

Joseph was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Dupree. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 54 years, Sara Lawrence Dupree; son, Joseph Lee Dupree, Jr. and wife, Jill and their sons, Seth and Layton Dupree all of Tarboro; daughter, Sandy Somers and husband, John and their daughter, Ella-Faith Somers all of Knightdale, their son, the Rev. Charlie Dupree and his partner, Matthew Cole of Bloomington, Ind.; sister, Janice Rollins of Scotland Neck brothers, Bill Dupree and Bob Dupree both of Tarboro.

If desired in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church 301 Dainel St., Apt. S-1, Tarboro, N. C. 27886.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
