W.H. Horace Ward, 90, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Edgecombe Memorial Park.
Mr. Ward is survived by a loving family including his wife of 68 years, Leola Strawbridge Ward; a daughter, Gayle Ward Rutledge and husband, Pat, of Elizabeth City; two sons: William H. “Bill” Ward and wife, Sylvia Fussell Ward, of Greenville and Gerald D. Ward and wife, Brenda, of Tarboro; a brother, Edward H. Ward of Richmond, Va., six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tarboro Veterans Museum, P.O. Box 115, Tarboro, N. C. 27886.
The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and other times at 1202 Howard Ave., Tarboro.
