Edward A. Harris, 81, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Tyson officiating.
Edward was preceded in death by his first wife, Hannah Wharton Harris. He retired from Sprint after 37 years of service. He served his country during the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Herald Harris; daughters; Lesa Harris Deeker and husband, Michael of Omaha, Neb., Kathy Harris Benedyk and husband, Robby of Angier; sons, Edward A. Harris, Jr. and wife, Laura, Greenville, S. C., Joseph A. Harris and wife, Dianna, Creedmoor; sister, Virginia Clark, Palmer’s Springs, Va.; Ann Cobb, Raleigh; brother, William Harris, Clarksville, Va.; grandchildren, Joe Harris, Jr, Mason Harris, Katie Benedyk, Emma Benedyk, and Anna Benedyk.
