A 24-year-old Edgecombe County man was found beaten early this morning on the Tarboro-Princeville Bridge.
Edward Tlacincio of Summer Acre Road in the Lawrence community was discovered by state Department of Transportation workers this morning and taken to Heritage Hospital before being airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
Edgecombe County Sheriff James Knight said it is believed that Tlacincio was beaten near the Black and Main streets parking lot before being taken to the bridge.
"He had obvious head injuries," Knight said.
The call came into the sheriff's office at 7:07 a.m. Knight added.
"We are still out there investigating," he said.
