Jewelry, guitars reported stolen

Thousands of dollars in jewelry and musical instruments, as well as a $3,500 lawnmower, were reported stolen to the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office on Thursday.

The Cub Cadet, 42-inch lawnmower was reported stolen from a residence on Speed Road, near Hobgood, at 3 p.m. Thursday, after it was last known to be secured at 7:45 a.m. the same day.

Then at 3:28 p.m., the sheriff's office received a call about more than $2,000 in gold and silver jewelry taken from a Silent Night Hill Road residence. At the same residence, it was also reported that two electric guitars and one case, together valued at $4,000, were stolen.
