Early voting begins today
Early voting for the Tarboro, Princeville and Pinetops' municipal elections begins today in the Edgecombe County Administration Building.
The hours for early voting are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, with early voting also taking place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Edgecombe County Board of Elections Director Jerry Spruell said those three municipalities are the only ones where their residents are eligible for early voting.
There are 9,878 registered voters within Tarboro, Princeville and Pinetops, Spruell said.
He added that people who want to vote early, but who haven't registered yet, can register and cast their ballot at the same time, inside the Administration Building's auditorium.
The time period is the same for absentee balloting.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The County Admin Building is at 201 Saint Andrew St. in Tarboro.
