Edgecombe County Public Schools are closed today with an optional two-hour delay for staff if they're able to make it to work safely, spokeswoman Diane LeFiles said.
"It is still icy on some of the secondary roads," she said.
LeFiles said the cancellation was to ensure the safety of students that ride the buses, which is a majority of the students.
