Perdue appoints Pitt to Tobacco Trust Fund Commission
Gwen Pitt of Macclesfield has been appointed by Gov. Beverly Perdue to serve on the Tobacco Trust Fund Commission.
The Commission oversees the distribution of funds from the Master Settlement Agreement to tobacco farmers, allotment holders and tobacco-related businesses. She is one of 18 members on the commission, and one of six who are appointed by the governor. Each member serves for four years.
Pitt works as a field crop scout for Bert Pitt Farms in St. Lewis, along with her husband Bert. She is a member of the Edgecombe County Farm Bureau Federation Board, the N.C. Farm Bureau Federation State Board of Directors, as well as the N.C. Farm Bureau Executive Board of Directors.
