Felon faces firearms possession, drug charges
A Tarboro man was charged with three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, along with other charges, at his residence early Thursday morning.
The Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office also charged Antoine Kenneth Coleman, 29, of 101 Lonepine Lane, with one count of possession of a stolen firearm, one felony count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff James Knight said deputies searched Coleman's residence at 1:30 a.m. Thursday and found an ecstasy pill, three pistols, digital scales and three false cans, which were used to hide narcotics.
Knight also said that one of the pistols found at the residence had been reported stolen back in 2006.
Coleman is being held in the Edgecombe County Detention Center under a $15,000 bond.
On March 11, 1997, Coleman was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in Edgecombe County Superior Court.
