Bobby Whitehead moved back to his native Tarboro about the same time that I became the director of the county’s arts council. He loved all the arts, having spent a number of years in the big city of Atlanta where he was a teacher and was owner of a floral shop -
Vote ‘no’ on ECC sales tax
To the Editor:
I must be in a game of musical signs. So far, I’ve placed six home-made “Taxed Enough Already” signs beside those in support of the quarter-cent tax. Two of my signs were removed rudely. Someone redeployed two signs in support that were near one of my signs. So, I moved that sad and lonely sign to near three signs in support. -
Community Chorus thanks supporters

Thirty-two singers, 12 instrumentalists, four conductors and a crowd of approximately 200 gathered Sunday afternoon in Keihin Auditorium for the “Sacred Music Through Ages” concert presented by the Edgecombe Community Chorus. -

We have had a rough four to six years in this great nation of ours. The last four have been devastating to many within our nation. The devastation really started in 2007 when the control of the United States Congress changed hands.
