Reading’s Alive!

Book Club

Tarboro Womans Club

5 On 5 Basketball Tournament the 22nd & 23rd, for ages 13-18, starting at 7pm. $10 cost per player. Trophies will be awarded to the winning team. Call 641-4210.



Republican Party

The Edgecombe County Republican Party wil hold its annual precinct meetings and county convention at the auditorium of the county administrative building, 201 St. Andrew St., Tarboro. Edgecombe County Veterans Museum

Video night at 7pm. Chris Larsen will present a video on the Pacific in World War II. All are welcome to the Museum on Church St. behind City Hall.



Edgecombe County Cultural Arts

A Camera’s Story, Featuring Artists Robert Cassanova, Gerard Lange, and Demetrious Noble. Exhibiting in the Hobson Pittman Memorial Gallery at the Blount Bridgers House, 130 Bridgers St., Tarboro. ECC Lead Paint

Paint County Purple

Vietnam Veteran’s Day Ceremony

The Joint Veterans Committee of Nash & Edgecombe Counties will hold its annual Vietnam Veteran’s Day Ceremony at the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial (across from Sunset Park, Rocky Mt), at 3pm. Our speaker will be Brig. General George H. Walls, USMC, ret., himself a Vietnam Veteran. We will have an honor guard Ceremonial Rifle Squad so wear your cover and unifrom and be part of the ceremony. For questions contact Vince, 212-5525.

Hobgood Academy Elementary School

This year’s spring musical, “The Best of Billboard”, a review of top music from the 1950’s to today. Friday-10am, $5 admission includes a box lunch and 7pm performance, $3 admission. In the RG Anthony Gymnasium.

ECC Historic Preservation Trades School

   Roy Underhill, host of the Woodright’s Shop on PBS, is headlining the 4th annual Historic Preservation Trades School on the Tarboro campus from 9am-5pm. Demonstrations in carpentry, painting, window repair, masonry, special lectures, and more. Fee for the day is $65. Seniors 65 and older, free. Lunch is additional.
