“The Sound of Music”

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical presented by the Tar River Players at 8am in the Keihin Auditorium of the Tarboro campus of ECC. Tickets $10, $5 for seniors. Call 252-823-5166, ext. 218.



Summer Plant Sale

All proceeds will go toward those seniors raising money to go to the state finals of the senior games in Raleigh. From 1-5pm, and on Sat. June 30th from 9am-1pm. 305 West Johnston Street, Tarboro.



Cowboys to ride

The Carolina Black Cowboys Saddle Club of Pinetops will host a trail ride fundraiser that will begin Friday with a fish fry and a DJ. and 11 a.m. Saturday  a trial ride. Admission for the two-day event is $10 for non-club members. Children under 10 will be admitted free. Proceeds will go to The event will  St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Jazz Music of

Coco Rouzier

Walk For Hope

Everyone is invited to attend the first annual Walk For Hope at 9am at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital’s Larry Lane Walking Track. All proceeds will help low-income men and women affected by breast cancer. Those interested in participating will be asked to gather contributions from sponsors as pledges per lap that they plan to walk. Anyone  interested in registering or for more information contact Scott Phillips  at 252-641-8313.

Flag Raising

At the Veteran’s Memorial on the Town Common for Alvin Lee Letchworth, U.S. Army, Korea, at 11am. The public is invited to attend.

Tarboro Kiwanis Club

Gerald D. Ward, Author of “Memories of a Small Town Cop”, will present the program at the Vidant Edgecombe Hospital Classroom at 6pm.



JULY 4

Fireworks

At 9:15pm (at dusk) Displayed from behind Tarboro High School and Braswell Center. For safety reasons, spectators wil have restricted access within 500 feet of the display set-up area. Call 252-641-4263 for more information.



Landfill

Edgecombe County Landfill will be closed in observance of Independence Day. All Recycling Centers will be open for the holiday.

CPR

Poetry Writing
