Car Wash

To benefit W.A.R.M., a program for winter assistance to disabled persons, the elderly, and those who have recently been laid off. 3 locations: 1100 Independance Dr, 4093 Sunset Ave., and 2595 Sunset Ave., Rocky Mt. $5

Golden Kiwanis

   Meets at the E.L. Roberson Center at 9:45am. The Program this week is a business meeting for all members and guests.

AUG 2

Unlimited Sale

A “Fabulous Accessories Unlimited Sale” will be held today and tomorrow Aug. 3rd. from 7am until 6pm. The sale will be located in the Vidant Edgecombe Hospital Classroom. The event is sponsored by the Vidant Edgecombe Hospital Volunteers.



Gift Bingo

the Happy Senior Citizens Club will be sponsoring gift bingo on the 1st and 3rd Thrusday of each month from 7-9pm at the E.L. Roberson Center.

A special TV Show on Channel 17 at 11:30am. Mike Weaver, Director of the Tar River Mental Health Clinic will be there to answer questions about health issues for mature people.

Camp

Edgecombe County Cultural Arts Council will hold its 3rd Annual Art and Dance Camp Aug 6-10th, from 9-12am. Ages 4-12 are invited to signup for this active and creative week. Flag Raising

At the Veteran’s Memorial on the Town Common for S/Sgt. Harvey K. Medford, U.S. Army (NG) at 11am. The public is invited to attend.



Medication Aide

A 3-week class begins on the Tarboro and Rocky Mount campus’ of ECC. In Tarboro class meets Mon & Wed 8:30am-12:30pm. In Rocky Mt. class meets Mon & Thurs from 8:30am-12:30pm. Cost is $65. Call 446-0436, ext. 322.



Teacher Training

A 1-week Effective Teacher Training class for substitute teachers meets Aug. 6-9 on the Rocky Mt. campus of ECC. Class meets Mon-Thurs 9am-4pm. Cost is $65. Pre-registration is required. Call 446-0436, ext. 357.

Vidant Edgecombe Hospital

Kickoff Event for 1st Annual Tarboro Heart & Strock Walk. Event scheduled for Nov. 4th. Lynn Pichke of the American Heart Association and cardiologist Dr. Hassan Alhosaini will be our guest speakers. Light refreshments. From 5:30-6:30pm in the Vidant Edgecombe Hospital Classroom.

   Meeting at 7pm at our district #7 Headquarters. A representative from each precinct will share updates on their “Getting out the Vote” (GOTV) and Voters Registration-Education Activities. All members are urged to attend and bring your neighbors and some friends.
