A North Carolina Gubernatorial Debate between Democrat Walter Dalton and Republican Pat McCrory will televised before a live audience in the Dunn Center at NC Wesleyan College at 7 pm on Wednesday, October 24. The audience must be seated by 6:30 pm. Tickets are free, limited in number, and required to reserve a seat. The event is co-sponsored by NC Wesleyan, the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce, WRAL TV-5, and Capitol Broadcasting, Inc. Spooky Coloring Contest

The Braswell Center is sponsoring this event for ages 5-7, 8-10, or 11-13 years of age. Start picking up your sheets on Oct. 10. Winners announced on the 25 at 6 p.m.. For more info. call 641-4210.

Founders Day

At NC Wesleyan College at 11am in the Minges Auditorium. Guests will include former NCWC President Les Garner, as well as decendants of some of our first fundraisers for the College.

Heart Walk 2012


Show your baby has “Heart” and enter him or her in the Baby Contest and support Vidant Health Care Heart Walk 2012. For babies 0 to 2 years old. The winner will be crowned at Vidant’s Heart Walk on Nov. 4. Entry fee $10 per child. Deadline Oct. 27



Fall Festival

North East Carolina Prep School will have a Fall Festival at the Former Mary Francis Center from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.. This event is open to the public and will have food,  carnival games,  hayrides, face painting, and a trunk or treat beginning at 12pm.

Will be at the Tarboro Wal-Mart from 9am-2pm. All animals have been spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines. Wal-Mart will donate a starter kit for each animal adopted. Please come out and find your forever friend!

A free gospel music program at 4 p.m. in McIntyre Auditorium at Edgecombe Community College.Patrons are asked to bring canned and non-perishable food items to support needy families during the holiday season.
