The Edgecombe County Human Relations Commission will be sponsoring a Candidates Forum at 6pm in the auditorium of the Edgecombe County Administrative Bldg. Historical Marker Ceremony

The public is invited to unveiling of NC Highway Marker recognizing jaxx musician Thelonious Monk, who was born in Edgecombe County, at 5pm at Booker T Theater, 170 E. Thomas St., Rocky Mt. Followed by reception, historical reflections on Thelonious Monk and Monk jazz festival.

Garden Symposium

At Calvary Church, Blount-Bridgers House and local gardens



Edgecombe County Distinguished Citizen’s Award

Wick Baker, President of Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, will be the recipient of the 2012 award. This honor is given annualy by the Boy Scouts of America. The banquet will be held at Abrams Restaurant at 6:30pm. All proceeds will support the local Boy Scouts. For more information call Lew Sisson at 252-955-9213.
