Tarboro Kiwanis Club

Meeting at 5:30pm in the Riverside Mall parking lot between Ribeyes and McDonalds to pick up trash for the Adopt-A-Highway Project. We will meet afterwards at Pizza Hut for PIZZA “Rain or Shine”.



Progressive Democrats Club

Candidates Forum

The Edgecombe County Human Relations Commission will be sponsoring a Candidates Forum at 6pm in the auditorium of the Edgecombe County Administrative Bldg. Local and State Candidates have been invited.  Free to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information contact Jamilla Hawkins at 252-641-7821.



Golden Kiwanis

Meets at the E.L. Roberson Center at 9:45am. The Program is a business meeting for all members and guests.

Happy Senior Citizens Club

Sponsoring gift bingo on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 7-9pm at the E.L. Roberson Center.



National Day of

Prayer

At Noon on the Courhouse Square.

Relay For Life

Starting at 6pm and going until 8am Sunday morning on the Tarboro High Football Field. Food & Fun for All!!

Will present “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder at 8pm in McIntyre Auditorium, ECC. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $5 for students. For more info. call 823-5166, ext 218.



Historical Marker Ceremony

The public is invited to unveiling of NC Highway Marker recognizing jaxx musician Thelonious Monk, who was born in Edgecombe County, at 5pm at Booker T Theater, 170 E. Thomas St., Rocky Mt. Followed by reception, historical reflections on Thelonious Monk and Monk jazz festival.

Edgecombe County Distinguished

Citizen’s Award

Wick Baker, President of Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, will be the recipient of the 2012 award. This honor is given annualy by the Boy Scouts of America. The banquet will be held at Abrams Restaurant at 6:30pm. All proceeds will support the local Boy Scouts. For more information call Lew Sisson at 252-955-9213.
