Edge. Community Chorus


Rehearsal at  St. James United Methodist Church at 7pm. $10 membership fee. Concert at ECC Oct. 21st.



ECC

Phlebotomy classes being on the Tarboro campus of ECC. One class meets 2:30-6:30pm Mond & Wed. A second class meets 6-9pm Tues or Thurs. Prerequisite:  Career Readiness Certificate. Cost is$183.50.  Call 446-0436, ext. 397.

Spanish Online. Two  courses:  Workplace Spanish for Customer Service and Workplace Spanish for Manufacturing. Classes are 30  hours of instruction. cost is $120. Call 823-5166, ext. 164 or  265.  



Ready Readers Book Club

Will meet and discuss the book “Killer Stuff and Tons of Money” by maureen Stanton. At 6:30pm in the Pender Room of the Edgecombe County Memorial Library.



SEPT 11

Progresive Democrats Club


Meeting  at 7pm at our District #11 Headquarters. A representative from each pricinct will share updates on their “Getting out the Vote” (GOTV) and Voters Registration Education activities. All members are urged to attend and bring your neighbors and some friends.

The 9/11 In Honor and Rembebrance Ceremony will be held at 2:30pm at Golden Living Center, 1000 Western Blvd., Tarboro. This program is sponsored by the Woodman fo the World Tarboro Lodge 115. The Public is Invited.



Are You Prepared?

September is National Disaster Preparedness Month  and you can get all the answers you need from Butch Beach, Director of Emergency Services, from 1-2pm at the Edgecombe County Administrative Bldg.  Room 260. Call 252-641-5831.



ECC - Tourism

A two-day class on Edgecombe County History meets Sept. 11&13 on the Tarboro campus of ECC. Class meets 9am-noon. This is the first class in new Tourism Ambassador Certificate program. Fee is $120. Call 823-5166, ext. 220.

 

LTAI Disscussion

ECML continues it’s 8th  LTAI disscussion series. Theme:  Altered Landscapes North Carolina’s Changing Worlds. “Garden Spells” by Sarah Addison Allen will be discussed by Dr. karen Zipf, professor of History at ECU in Greenville.

Golden Kiwanis


Meeting at the Colonial Theater, Main Street. Groundbreaking for the completion  of the  exterior of the Theater will take place at 10am at the back of the Theater.

Democracy


Will hold it’s monthly meeting at 6:30pm at ECC, Tarboro campus Room A-141, McIntyre Bldg. OUr project for Sept. is the Board of Elections education and voter registration in high schools. Free, open to  the public and non-partisans.

Musical Memories of WWII
