Mr. and Mrs. Harry McKinley Lightsey, III of Atlanta, Georgia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Ellen Exia Lightsey, to Alexander Dows Pinson. Mr. Pinson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony DeSales Pinson of Alexandria, Virginia.
Miss Lightsey is the granddaughter of Mrs. Kathleen Kay Lightsey and the late Dr. Harry McKinley Lightsey, Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina and Dr. Donald Emery Weatherbee and the late Mrs. Mary Ellen Weatherbee. She graduated from Hammond School in Columbia, South Carolina, and earned a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations and Religion at Boston University.
Mr. Pinson is the grandson of Mrs. Penelope Kirkham Pinson and the late Mr. Paul DeSales Pinson of Lakeland, Florida, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Price Miller of Tarboro, North Carolina. He is a graduate of St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University. He is currently employed by the City Year Service Corps in Boston, Massachusetts.
The wedding is planned for June 2010 in Charleston, South Carolina.
