Gwen Shaw has been named “Social Worker of the Year” by the Edgecombe County Health Department. She was recognized at a March 14 gathering at Ribeye’s.
In addition, awards were presented to the Most Outstanding Social Worker. Delphine Wiggins received the award for the Care Management Team and Bethany Hux received the award for Home Care and Hospice Team.
At the March 14 luncheon celebrating Social Work Month, Glenn Osborne, director of Wilson County Department of Social Services. Glen spoke to the staff on the Social Work Month theme of “Why Social Work Matters.”
