Melancon/Johnson

Sara Dawn Melancon and Ronald Anthony Johnson, Jr. were united in marriage at 3:00 p.m. on April 11th, 2009, at the Pinetops Baptist Church in Pinetops, North Carolina. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. John Wooten, and Rev. John Melancon, father of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. John Melancon of Pinetops, North Carolina. She is employed by Edgecombe County Schools as a first grade teacher at Stocks Elementary in Tarboro, NC, and is a graduate of Campbell University.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Johnson of Destrehan, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University and is employed at the Little River Golf and Resort in Carthage, North Carolina, and has served his country by serving five years in the Navy aboard the USS Hampton.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a satin A-line halter dress with beaded lace, split front, cornflower blue sash and lace up back. Her elbow length beaded veil was designed and hand made by Jeni Hardin, a friend of the bride, and her bouquet was hand tied with blue hydrangeas, deep pink and white tulips and freesia, and adorned with a white handkerchief given to the bride by her grandmother, Elsie Temple.

Maid of Honor was Ms. Crystal Lucas, friend of the bride, and Ronald Johnson, father of the groom, served as Best Man.

Bridesmaids were Mrs. Tyffany Weaver, friend of the bride, and Ms. Holley Johnson, sister of the groom. Miss Ashleigh Perkins, former student of the bride, served as Junior Bridesmaid.

Groomsmen were Mark Melancon and Adam Melancon, brothers of the bride. Blake Melancon, nephew of the bride, served as Junior Groomsman.

Pianist was Mrs. Robin Farmer, Organist was Mrs. Vel Trevathan, and Flutist was Ms. Taylor Farmer. Vocalists were Frank and Sharon Smith.

Book attendants were Mrs. Pam Taylor, Ms. Susan Rae Webb, and Mrs. Karen Norfleet. Wedding directors were Mrs. Andi Green, and Mrs. Theresa Lassiter.

A rehearsal dinner was given by parents of the groom in the Pinetops Baptist Fellowship Hall.

Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Pinetops Baptist Fellowship Hall coordinated by Mrs. Denise Johnson.

The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia and reside in Aberdeen, North Carolina.
