Moore Chiropractic

Practice in the business of feeling better

After practicing in Rocky Mount for the past 10 years, Dr. Greg Moore, D.C., has moved Moore Chiropractic back to Tarboro.

"We are so glad to be working in Tarboro again," said Moore, who has lived in Tarboro since 1993. "It's great to be back."

Moore, a native of Texas, graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, that was established in 1897 as the first school of chiropractic in the world.

After graduating in 1993, Moore moved to Tarboro, where he opened his first practice.

In 1999, Moore began practicing in Rocky Mount, although Moore and his wife, Ann-Troy, still lived in Tarboro.

"Even though we worked in Rocky Mount, we have too many ties to ever leave Tarboro," said Ann-Troy. "But now that we are back, I can ride my bike to work."

Moore said that business has been great since re-opening in Tarboro on Dec. 9.

“We brought a lot of our Rocky Mount patients back with us and got many of our old Tarboro patients back,” said Moore. “We are looking forward to helping new patients.”

Moore offers patients a range of chiropractic services including identification and treatment of spinal problems, spinal adjustments, treatment of muscle and joint pain, targeted nutritional systems and establishing and maintaining wellness.

"There is so much that is related to our spinal column and nervous systems," said Moore. "

In addition to adjustments, which Moore performs by hand, Moore Chiropractic has a number of treatment machines, including a Hydro-Massage Therapy Bed, that are a favorite with patients.

"A lot of patients fall asleep on those (Hydro-Massage Therapy Bed) things," said Moore. "They also love the Spinal Traction Tables."

Moore said that anyone that comes to his office and mentions this news article can get a free session on the Hydro-Massage Therapy Bed.

"They will love it," said Moore.

Another machine that has proven effective with patients is the TheraStim Machine.

The TheraStim is a type of TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) machine, which produces small electrical impulses which are transmitted from the machine through the skin by means of a wire connected to a small conductive patch which is placed on the skin. The placement of the pads is carefully selected to target the problematic areas which are causing pain.

"This thing is the Mazarati of TENS machines," said Ann-Troy. "They really help with sprains and can accelerate the healing of fractures."

Moore said that his office has the only TheraStim machine in the area.

"Golfers use them to help their golf swing when their back is hurting," said Moore. "We actually have a protocol for using it with golfers."

With these machines and different treatments, Moore said he is able to bring almost instant relief for many patients.

“I had a patient that came in laying in the back seat of his friends station wagon, which pulled up to the door and he crawed out of,” said Moore. “After his treatment with me, he walked out of the office.”

Moore Chiropractic is open from 8 a.m. to noon and from 2-6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Office hours on Tuesday are 9 a.m. to noon and from 2-6 p.m.

Appointments may be made by calling 824-3003.
