CLINICAL LADDER

Four receive promotions at Heritage

TARBORO — Heritage Hospital recently honored four employees for their achievements in the Clinical Ladder Program.

Occupational Therapist Kelley Williams, Speech Language Pathologist Matthew Eiban, Medical Lab Technician Becky Walker and Lead Chemistry Technician Colleen Sparks were honored at a formal luncheon to celebrate the recent promotions.

All four received a stone pin designating their status and a monetary gift.

The Clinical Ladder Program at Heritage Hospital was started in 1988 and was designed to recognize the bedside care-giver or clinician that spends at least 50 percent of their work day in direct patient care activities.

The program recognizes those who exhibit qualities of excellence in care to the patient, as well as working to improve overall quality and performance in their department, hospital, and/or to the community.

Williams achieved Clinical Ladder Level II.

“The clinical ladder program provided me with a wonderful avenue to grow professionally," said Williams. "And, at the same time, be recognized for the contributions I have made to the organization and to the community.”

Sparks achieved Clinical Ladder III.

“This is a really good complimentary acknowledgement of employees who strive to be the best of the best,” said Sparks.

The Clinical Ladder is a strong component of Heritage Hospital’s Recruitment and Retention Plan, recognizing the contributions of staff to patient care and improvement in a quality initiative or process.
