These walkers were among 73 persons participating in Tarboro’s first-ever Heart Walk, held on a chilly Sunday afternoon at the Town Common. Participants got under way from St. Patrick Street and headed north up to and around the Blount Bridgers House. From that point, they headed west on Phillips to Main Street and south to St. John, where they headed back to St. Patrick. The walk has traditionally been held in Rocky Mount, but as the result of a partnership between Vidant Edgecombe Hospital and the Edgecombe County Health Department, the local walk was established.
