Inaccurate Signs
There are several signs around town announcing free mammograms, and they are incorrect. The signs announce “free mammograms,” and give a number to call. The sign goes on to say: “Save your life or someone in your family’s life.”
The Edgecombe County Health Department is listed at the bottom of the sign.
A representative from the Edgecombe County Health Department stated that the signs are wrong. She went on to explain that the signs were installed by the late Dr. Steve Hoard, a retired dentist and Town Council member. - Pet for Vets

Before I could put down my purse, it was “off to the races,” and I immediately hopped in my car, and drove downtown to the Town Hall to check it out.

Great Pies
Most everyone loves a good pie. But, everyone also has their own favorite. I love easy pies, both sweet and savory. What is your favorite pie?
Our first recipe is an old family favorite. My aunt Daisy used to make the best sliced sweet potato pie. Our family really looked forward to her pies at family events and Thanksgiving. - Make Ahead Dinners
